luke pilkinton biography
Luke was born in 1972. He grew up in Titahi Bay, Porirua, New Zealand.
In 1990, aged 17, he moved to the Philippines with his missionary parents to live in a slum community on the outskirts of Manila.
In 1991 he travelled to the USA where he studied the first year of a Bible degree, and classical guitar before returning to New Zealand to complete a teaching diploma. He finished off a Bachelor of Education at Massey University during 1996.
Luke's first album, 'Monsoon Rain' was released in February 1995. His second album 'The Journey' was released in October 1996.
Luke taught at Titahi Bay Intermediate School, in Porirua for 10 years.
He married in 1998 and Luke and his wife are currently living in Titahi Bay with their 3 children. Luke now runs his own photography and web design business.
